Oct. 5

I think we can all agree... fall is in the air. Was it ever chilly today!  Please don't forget to dress for the weather, bringing hats and mittens, especially for those chilly mornings...

As always, today was a great day of learning.  We are currently working on a small design thinking project using our learning from Magnets.  We have identified ways that we could improve our classroom using magnets, such as using them to hang our art or using them to help us tuck in our chairs.

Today we started a story called "Rosie Revere Engineer" about a young girl who loves to invent. She would invent all sorts of things for people until one day someone laughed at her invention. After that, she continued to invent but was too embarrassed to share her ideas. This led to a great discussion about times we have been laughed at, how we felt, and how we can ensure we don't make others feel that way.

After listening to the story, we joined into groups of students who had an interest in solving the same classroom problem.  At this time, we started to come up with some ideas that may help with our problems. We ensured that everyone had a say, that everyone was included and when possible we added to the ideas we heard.  This will be a process that will take a few weeks, but we will keep you updated through the blog on our progress.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
